WELCOME TO THE SOULFUL
CHILD!
Assisting children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy,
Autism, Learning Disabilities, Behavioral Challenges and
ADD/ADHD in their discovery of their own yoga practice.

Children with special needs have a very busy lifestyle.
Within one week, they may have an appointment with their
tutor, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech
therapist and a myriad of other scheduled visits with
specialists. So…
Why include yoga in your child’s busy agenda?
Practicing Yoga is an opportunity for your child to feel
like a true specialist themselves… specializing in their own
body, mind and spirit! Your child will be guided to move,
focus and relax without judgment. Their innate abilities
will be channeled to support their personal development.
This sort of empowerment is important to a child with
special needs.
Through yoga we will:
 |
Stretch and strengthen
every part of the body and increase stamina |
 |
Improve balance, muscle
tone and motor coordination |
 |
Clear the upper and
lower respiratory systems |
 |
Increase flexibility
while improving stability at the joints |
In addition, yoga:
 |
Is gentle on the body
and noncompetitive |
 |
Aids in digestion,
circulation and elimination |
 |
Helps children to relax
and concentrate, encouraging clarity and cognition |
 |
Enhances body awareness
and self-esteem |
A typical yoga session
will include:
 |
Rhythm and Song |
 |
Pranayama (Breathing) |
 |
Asanas (Postures) |
 |
Shavasana (Relaxation) |
